MMC has established a good network with some organization who are extending their hands for harassed journalists. Any tortured journalist can get help from this organizations. Journalists can take help in two ways; (i) Legal assistance from legal support services organizations and (ii) Treatment from assigned organizations. The detail address and contract of support services organizations are given at the last part. For farther clearance one or more instance connected as follows:
a. A local correspondent of the Daily Jugantor, Muniruzzaman Munir of Jhalakati, sought help from MMC in order to get legal aid as he was unable to run five cases filed against him because of his writing against the local influential person. Following the request, MMC asks BLAST, a specialized organization on legal support, to take up the matter. BLAST took the responsibility accordingly.
Same thing happened in the case of Akkas Sikder, a contributor of the Daily Bhorer Kagaj of Jhalakati. The superintendent of police filed a false murder case against him as he published a report in a local newspaper on corruption of the SP. MMC referredx the case to BRTC and BRTC hendled the case.
b. A Maderipur correspondent of the Daily Bhorer Kagaj, Mr. Jahangir Alam sought help from MMC for legal aid, as a false case was filed against him. Following his request, MMC requested BRCT, a specialized organization on legal support, to took at the matter. BRCT took the responsibility of the matter accordingly and gave a sum of taka 6000 and legal support to the concerned journalist. Finally the case was dismissed.
